Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of the PRIVATE marketplace ("PRIVATE", "we", "us") processes personal information when you visit our website, use an account, inquire on WhatsApp, shop for PRIVATE fashion, or participate in PVT incentives. The legal entity operating PRIVATE must be identified in the seller and checkout disclosures before transactions go live.
1. Who controls your information
PRIVATE operates from IPHONE CAMEROUN, ODZA, RG5H+8VH, Yaoundé, Cameroon. For privacy questions and requests, contact us at +237 695 661 073 (WhatsApp). The operating company’s registered legal name, registration number and formal privacy email must be published before live operation.
2. Information we process
Depending on features you use, we may process your name, username, email, telephone, delivery and billing information, account identifiers, order history, product inquiries, customer-service messages, PVT reward activity, device/browser details, approximate location derived from IP, preferred language and currency, and security logs. Payment providers may collect payment details directly; we should not store complete payment-card details.
3. Why we process information
We use data to register and authenticate accounts, respond to inquiries, confirm orders, deliver products, administer eligible rewards, prevent fraud, handle refunds and disputes, comply with tax and legal duties, secure our services and improve usability. Marketing messages and optional non-essential tracking require an appropriate legal basis and, where required, your consent.
4. Cookies and preferences
Essential cookies support sessions and security. Local device storage may save cart items, wishlist, language, currency and theme preferences. Non-essential analytics or advertising cookies should remain disabled until appropriate notice and any required consent are implemented. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser, although some features may stop working.
5. Sharing and international transfers
We share only necessary information with payment processors, delivery partners, hosting/security providers, customer-support providers, and professional advisers under appropriate safeguards. WhatsApp inquiries are processed through WhatsApp/Meta subject to their own terms and privacy practices. Some service providers may process information outside Cameroon; international transfers must comply with applicable Cameroonian data-protection requirements.
6. Security and retention
We apply proportionate access controls, encrypted connections, secure authentication, monitoring and restricted staff access. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain records only as long as needed for disclosed purposes, applicable legal obligations, fraud prevention and valid disputes, and then delete or anonymize them where feasible. Precise retention schedules must be documented internally.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request information about your processing, access, correction, deletion where applicable, objection or restriction, and withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us through the support channel above; we may verify your identity before responding. You may also raise concerns with the competent Cameroonian authority.
8. Children and account safety
The marketplace is intended for persons able to enter legally binding transactions. Minors should only use it with a parent or legal guardian where permitted. Do not send passwords, PINs or complete payment credentials via WhatsApp.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. Material changes will be made reasonably prominent, and new consent sought when legally required.
Compliance framework: Cameroon Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on personal-data protection, Law No. 2010/012 on cybersecurity and cybercrime, and other applicable law. This policy must match actual technical practices before publication.
